“Hope”

I’ve been thinking a lot about hope. Hope is what helps us get through the most difficult times. We hold on to the hope that tomorrow will be better and brighter. Hope is what lifts us out of anguish and despair and makes us believe that things won’t always be this way. Hope gives us permission to dream. It allows us to live optimistically with the idea that anything is possible.

Funny story…as I was painting her, I thought “Hmm, she looks hopeful.” I wanted to include a message on the canvas about hope and birds or feathers to tie it all together. So I Google’d “Hope is like a feather” just to see if I could come up with something clever to write. Little did I know that there is a famous Emily Dickinson poem called “Hope Is The  Thing with Feathers”. Synchronicity at work!
