I’m SO Excited to announce that I’ve launched a merchandise shop on Redbubble! It is incredibly surreal and satisfying to see my art printed on all sorts of fun and beautiful items – scarves, notebooks, journals, tote bags, mugs, clothing, zipper pouches, throw pillows, stickers, and so much more!
Visit http://jackiebarragan.redbubble.com for an assortment of my designs on a large variety of merchandise! I promise you won’t be disappointed! I am so impressed with the quality of the images and the products themselves.
Of course, I also still have art prints available for sale on Etsy – with FREE SHIPPING!
Regardless of your age, your race, your ethnicity, your religion or lack thereof, your political party, your gender, your sexuality, your immigration status, who you love, where you live, how much money you make…You Matter.
I started this in February and felt stuck for a really long time. Mostly because I didn’t like her face and I detest working so small. Fine details are not my thing. In any case, I decided to call her done a few months ago. Here are my first mermaid and her little seal companion.
The reason I decided to create this piece is because I had had seals on my mind for a while (they kept appearing in meditation and during Reiki) and I kept feeling this nudge to paint one.
Earlier this year I had to come up with a “Challenge” as part of my lesson for The Art of Sisterhood course. I chose to do a “Dollar Drop” as my challenge. For seven days, I left one of my art postcards in random places with one dollar bill attached.
The back of each card read: “You are so very loved. May you rise above life’s challenges and let your light shine! Wishing you an abundance of all the goodness in life.”
My first passion has always been writing. I started keeping a journal when I was 12 and from that point forward, I wrote for more than 20 years. For most of my life, I felt that I had an important story to tell. I used to envision publishing a memoir and someday sitting across from Oprah, discussing my book. (Ok, I admit it… I still hold this vision.)
